shedding Light on Art, Sustainability & Innovation
FLASH provides expert advice to a wide variety of stakeholders—from cities and cultural institutions to festivals and educational organizations.
Through its work, FLASH helps broaden the general understanding of light art and its potential. FLASH actively advocates for sustainable lighting practices and the preservation of natural darkness as a cultural and ecological value.
At the core of its activities is the FLASH Database—a curated online catalogue that showcases high-quality Finnish light art to a global audience. This database serves as a vital resource for curators, producers, researchers, and the public.
FLASH organizes a Light Art Biennial, and other light art exhibitions. FLASH brings Finnish light art to festivals across Finland, the Nordic region, and Europe, and is open to new partnerships opportunities and conquests. FLASH highlights the possibilities of light art in museums, urban development, and environmental design, while helping more people discover and appreciate the exceptional power of light art.
